Chi Omega Make-A-Wish

At the start of this semester, our brothers had the privilege of taking part in a Chi Omega Make-A-Wish event, an event where a little girl’s dreams of becoming a princess and getting to visit Disney would come true! Brothers played the role of knights, helping provide entertainment such as performing duels in the name of the princess!!

Alumni Spotlight:

Andy Pouncey
At the start of this fall semester, we gathered a group of actives to hear Brother Pouncey give a speech at the Doughboy Statue. Brother Pouncey, an amazing historian, delighted us with accounts from Memphis and its WW1 efforts!
Brothers in the Baltics

Brothers involved in the Rhodes Singers Choir took part in an opportunity to sing abroad. They performed in the Baltic States, singing music native to the region.
Brotherhood Trip to Costa Rica

This summer, a small fraternity trip to Costa Rica of 6 brothers was organized. Here are some pictures they provided from the trip!
Brothers’ Summer Accounts:

←Ben Morrow
This Summer I worked as a laboratory assistant at Washington University School of Medicine for eight weeks in Dr. Peggy Kendall’s Allergy & Immunology lab, working with Dr. Rebekah Browning to help develop an improved diagnostic assay for alpha-gal syndrome. I performed ELISAs, analyzed experimental results, and presented my findings during weekly lab meetings. I also completed EMT training in Birmingham, Alabama, passed the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam, and earned my EMT licenses in both Alabama and Tennessee. I spent a total of 50 hours at an ambulance service and in an ER in the Birmingham area.

This summer, I had the privilege of working for Senator Tom Cotton in Washington, D.C. While there, I gained great insight into how our nation functions and the importance of collaboration, communication, and leadership in public service. I specialized in foreign policy and veteran affairs, which allowed me to think critically and reinforce my commitment to civic engagement. As I look back at my time in D.C., I feel blessed and thankful for the opportunity of a lifetime!

This summer I had the opportunity to intern at the Colosseum in Rome, Italy. I worked with amazing archaeologists and historians in the field of ancient history, and I also got the chance to visit a lot of historical sites and museums. History is a lifelong passion of mine, and the experience was truly a dream come true.
